Blockscout reports its highest daily Pro API signups of the year, while v12 brings new data tools and changes that API integrators need to review.

Blockscout says daily signups for its Pro API reached their highest level of the year after growth accelerated in September. The figures point to rising developer interest in a service that provides blockchain data across multiple networks, though the company hasn’t published signup totals or a breakdown by chain.
The API offers up to 50 keys per account, usage dashboards, and higher rate limits than Blockscout says its competitors provide. On most chains, its free tier allows 5 requests per second and 100K credits per day. Developers can begin using that allowance after creating a key through Blockscout’s developer portal.
Access varies by chain
Pricing depends on the network. Base, Polygon, and zkSync require a paid plan, while Robinhood Chain, Arc, and more than 100 other networks are available without one. That distinction matters for teams planning a multichain product: API access and usage limits need to be checked for each network in the intended deployment.
Blockscout describes the product as production-ready and professional-grade, but the reported signup growth alone doesn’t show how developers are using it or whether usage is concentrated among a small number of chains. Rate limits and daily credits also set practical ceilings for applications that depend on frequent queries. Builders will need to account for those limits as they estimate demand and decide whether a paid tier is needed.

Keeper provides one multichain example
Keeper, the wallet previously known as Tonkeeper, uses the API to retrieve blockchain data for Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Base. It also links users to the Blockscout explorer for transaction details. Tonkeeper built its name as a self-custody wallet on TON before rebranding earlier this year; the Keeper case shows how a wallet can combine data access across networks with an explorer for transaction-level views.
That setup gives developers one concrete pattern to examine, but it doesn’t establish how the API performs under different traffic levels or how its chain coverage compares for any particular product. Blockscout says it plans to publish more developer case studies and technical details about projects using the service across hundreds of chains. Those details should help readers assess the integration choices beyond the headline signup trend.
Blockscout is inviting Pro API users to share how they build with the service through its contact page. Further examples may clarify which endpoints developers rely on, how they manage usage, and where explorer links fit into wallet interfaces.
Version 12 changes APIs and explorer features
Blockscout v12.0.0 is rolling out to hosted instances, beginning with testnets. The release adds support for the ERC-8056 token type, moves Sourcify integration from API v1 to v2, and introduces ABI-like decoding for transaction log inputs. It also adds an api/v2/tokens/batch endpoint and CSV export for token transfers from a token page.
For API integrators, the release includes changes that may require updates. Pagination now handles items_count differently, and all /api/v2/mud/* endpoints are being removed. Teams using those interfaces should review the v12 API change notes and test affected integrations as their instances receive the upgrade. Blockscout says a deeper technical account of the release is planned.
The rollout order also means hosted testnet users encounter the changes first. That can give developers an opportunity to inspect behavior in a test environment before a corresponding deployment reaches other hosted instances, although each team will need to check the timing and configuration of its own service.
Buildathon and other updates
Craftora’s Pro API Buildathon is running its first sprint from Oct 8 to 24. Projects must use the Blockscout Pro API as a core component. The listed awards include a pool of 1,200 USDC credits, mentorship from the Blockscout team, certificates, and winner badges. Details and registration are available on the Craftora sprint page.

For developers evaluating the API, the immediate questions are practical: whether their target chains are included in the free tier, how their query volume fits within the rate and credit limits, and whether v12 changes affect existing integrations. The reported signup peak suggests growing discovery; usage patterns and the upcoming case studies will show more about how that interest translates into deployed applications.
